On Sunday, February 18, 2024, candidates and catechumen from our parish joined with hundreds of other OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) members in the Archdiocese of Chicago at Holy Name Cathedral for the Rite of Election and Call to Continuing Conversion. Those preparing to enter the Catholic Church during the Easter Vigil were called forth during the rite and Cardinal Cupich prayed over them. It was a great celebration and it was good to see so many catechumens and candidates who were joyful and enthusiastic to be received into the Catholic faith.
In your kindness, please keep in your prayers all those who have journeyed through the OCIA process since last September and who will either enter the Catholic Church or complete their Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil. In particular, please remember the catechumen who will receive Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist: Adriane Gil Ramos.
The candidates completing their Sacraments of Initiation for Confirmation and Eucharist are: Christopher Balanzar, Giovanni Balanzar, Lizbeth Casas, Yashlin Giron, Anthony Moreno, Janessa Nava-Escalante, and the candidates who will be confirmed at the Easter Vigil are Eric Arias-Montoya, Sebastian Arias-Montoya, Alejandro Arroyo, Genesis Arroyo, Karina Casas, Nella Iversen, and Angellyze Lobrin.
