The Ministry of Care is a ministry that combines prayer, support, and sacraments. Ministers of Care try to live out the Gospel message by loving and serving others as Jesus did, sharing in the healing ministry of Jesus, the Good Shepherd.

Our Ministers of Care are available to visit and bring the Eucharist to sick or homebound parishioners.

Lois DeFelice is the coordinator of the ministry to the homebound, hospitals, and nursing homes. Email her at loisdefelice@gmail.com or leave a message for her at the Pastoral Center at 708–453–2555.

Hospital Ministry

We visit hospitalized parishioners to show them the love and concern of the St. Mother Theodore Guerin faith community and will pray with them and can bring them the Eucharist. We also listen in a caring way, alert to other ways to be of assistance. If you or someone you love is hospitalized and would like a visit or to have the Eucharist brought to them, please call the Pastoral Center. Because of the HIPAA privacy laws, hospitals no longer call parishes to let them know parishioners are in their facility.

Homebound Ministry

We visit parishioners who are homebound to show them the love and concern of the St. Mother Theodore Guerin faith community. We can pray with them and bring them the Eucharist if they desire. We also listen in a caring way, alert to other ways in which we may be of assistance as well as through our spiritual support.

Nursing Home Visitations

We visit parishioners in nursing homes, and can pray and bring the Eucharist to them, being present in a caring way, showing them the love and concern of the St. Mother Theodore Guerin faith community.
