Scholarship & Speaker 2019 | St. Mother Theodore Guerin

Congratulations Veronica! For the past two years, the St. Mother Guerin Women’s Club (SMGWC) recognizes a distinguished student to receive the Nancy Corpolongo Scholarship Award. Nancy was a member and a past officer of the women’s club and a long-time member of the parish who helped many organizations.

This monetary award is presented to an 8th-grade young lady graduating from St. Celestine’s school and continuing her education at a Catholic high school. This student is selected by the junior high teachers of St. Celestine. This student takes her education and religion seriously, is from a family who is actively involved in our parish, and is committed to school, church and her community. This year, the SMGWC presented Veronica Dworak with this very deserving award.

After the Scholarship Presentation, the Women’s Club had Carol “CK” Keating as the speaker talking about Native Plants. CK is a Certified Tree keeper with Openlands for 12 years and a Master Gardener Trainee with the Botanic Garden. She is a Garden Angel for the St. Celestine Worship Site, and a volunteer for Dever School Garden Club.
