Come and see what they saw!

The Chosen is a groundbreaking historical TV show based on the life of Jesus Christ (played by Jonathan Roumie), seen through the eyes of those who knew him. Set against the backdrop of Roman oppression in first-century Israel, the seven-season show shares an authentic and intimate look at Jesus’ revolutionary life and teachings.

THANK YOU FROM KIM HAGERTY TO THOSE WHO WATCHED SEASON 4 – I would like to thank those who came to watch The Chosen Season 4 on Wednesday nights in the Fireside Room at St. Celestine. The Chosen is a TV series that shows Jesus through the eyes of those around him. There are 4 seasons of 8 shows each out now, with three more seasons yet to come.

To say I have been obsessed with The Chosen since I first heard about it on a podcast a few years ago is an understatement. My husband Pat and I have watched the four seasons multiple times and saw the episodes when they were released in theatres before they were available through streaming. I think watching The Chosen is a wonderful way to evangelize, to share Jesus with others. By watching this series, the Gospels and readings have come alive in a way that I was not able to imagine before.

Before the episodes for Season 4 were released churches had permission to show them and we had a nice group that gathered on Wednesday nights for 8 weeks to watch the episodes together. This was a lot of fun for me to share The Chosen with others but what was very uplifting to me personally was people’s reaction to the show and their insights and questions into the events portrayed.

In the first episode of The Chosen, these words are on the screen: “The Chosen is based on the true stories of the gospels of Jesus Christ. Some locations and timelines have been combined or condensed. Backstories and some characters or dialogue have been added. However, all biblical and historical content and artistic imagination are designed to support the truth and intention of the Scriptures. Viewers are encouraged to read the gospels.”
